This is the actual web site that was created during the recording of a movie tutorial DVD called The Blind Leading the Blind So, why such
an odd title for a tutorial DVD on the subject of creating a web site. Well, I
recall my first attempts and how it all seemed like some secret society that I
was not a member of. Those that had the knowledge blurted it out to you like a
machine gun assuming you had the same knowledge as they did. Ok, Ok I need to calm down I know. So, here we are with a tutorial that keeps things really simple and I need to do that because despite the fact that I run a very large web site I do not consider myself anywhere near an expert on all things web based. I do know enough to get a basic web site up and running and while it might not have all those whistles and bells of the most sophisticated sites, do we want that anyway ? We are digital photographers and we don't need things complicated. Image editing software is complicated enough thank you................ What we may need to know is: What type of web site do I want ? How do I make it user friendly ? How do I design the layout ? Where do I get all those graphics from that we see on web sites ? What software do I need to create a web site ? Where am I going to put my site ? Does my ISP provide web space ? How much space ? Will that be enough for my needs ? Where do I buy web space if I need it ? How much does it cost ? How do I structure the site so it has some order ? Do I need to learn this Hyper Text Markup Language (html) ?
