We have created a number of DVD’s where the subject was dedicated to one technique or another. Layers, Presentation, Raw etc. Here we have taken all those techniques and used them in a practical way in this Project Based Digital Techniques DVD. We have a series of real life projects worked through to a conclusion.

Our main aim, as always, is to achieve the very best quality from each file that we process. Enhancing what is good about the image and subduing was is not so good. As usual, many of the things we wish to do conflict and we find that we cannot get the quality in one part of the image, without losing it in another. Our aim as always is to be able to do both and our techniques have evolved over the years to enable us to do that.

Of course the latest buzz word in digital photography is HDR, but we have been doing that for years stretching the tonal range of our images using the tools of Photoshop. Here we continue those techniques as they evolve over time.

With each upgrade to Photoshop we seem to be able to do more and more and retain or even improve quality. In this series of tutorials we are working mostly with Raw files, but the techniques we describe and demonstrate can be applied just the same to high resolution jpeg images. Just take what we do in the Raw palette and apply that to your images using Levels, Hue and Saturation, Brightness and Contrast and Unsharp Mask.

Our tutorials are recorded at 1024*768 for a screen filling video, which are easy to watch and follow along. We include our start and finished images for you to use to follow the tutorials and to evaluate the work we have done. The copyright of these images does remain with Beckham Digital and the images are included solely for you to follow the tutorials. The images should not be re-used in any way.
