In most cases the images used by the author are available on the CD's and DVD's to allow you to follow the tutorials, but the copyright does remain with Beckham Digital.

We have approached this DVD differently to all our others, in that the images for most part have been supplied by visitors to the Beckham Digital Web site and the Forum. Over the past 2 years, we have run a number of small seminars restricted to 4 persons and some of the most interesting manipulations have come from images visitors have brought with them. Sometimes these are images they feel need something extra to give them appeal or perhaps they are looking for a way to overcome a technical difficulty.

We have all taken images at some time that nearly make it, or have suffered from some technical or exposure problem where the resulting image lacks impact, appeal and charm. That was our challenge, to ask visitors to the web site and forum to put us to the test and that is exactly what they have done. So, here we have a unique batch of images and we have done our very best to improve them. So, far the authors of the originals have all been pleased with our interpretation of their images and the resulting video that demonstrates the changes we have made.

We have tried to make sure that we explain what we feel could have been done a little better at the taking stage and the reasons for the manipulation we have chosen. Then of course how to carry out those manipulations for the best quality image possible. The authors of the images have kindly agreed to allow us to include them with this DVD. However, they are included to allow you to follow the tutorial and to evaluate our manipulations only and the copyright of the images remains with the respective authors. Below you can read more detail of each of our manipulations and you can see the before and after images too.

In addition we have looked back at some of our earlier images and asked the question, are the images we shot with these cameras destined to never see the light of day again. With more powerful software, our own techniques and skill improving and the pixel count of our cameras soaring, there is reason to think not, but perhaps that is not the case as we endeavor to demonstrate.
