I don't like to pigeon hole slide shows, but I think it is fair to say we can split AV into two broad sections.
In one section we will try to capture a mood from a place, a subject, a person or even an event, maybe something from our history and we see plenty of shows created with a WW2 theme as an example.
We also have a need for the second category - a creative way to Present images. These could be a random set of images, or perhaps a presentation of an object, place or person. A models portfolio comes to mind, a house sale even. A child or grandchild's Birthday is another subject, but it could be almost anything.
One of the nicest ways to present images like this is in the form of a digital book with slowly turning pages. We can create the pages to turn themselves or we can allow the viewer to turn the pages when they are ready. This is a good idea if text is included with the images as we all read at a different pace. We can even have the music running independently to the viewer turning the pages so it is not affected by the speed of their viewing.
This digital book technique can also be split into two categories, because we can achieve this in two ways. Probably the easiest way is to create some artwork via our image editor and use a transition already a part of PTE.
The alternative is to use Animation and 3D parameters to take the place of our transition. This second option is more involved and we will deal with that technique in another tutorial.
Here we will start with the easier option which has bags of charm. Find the demo HERE
