In
this Photoshop CS 2 - Volume 4 DVD we move on still further from Volumes 1, 2
and 3 take a detailed look at image presentation. This subject can cover a multitude
of techniques including the presentation of our images for print purposes using
borders and frames. However, it also covers the more creative techniques such
as the scattered picture technique and the out of frame options too.
It must be remembered that the whole purpose of a frame or
border is to present our image better, so frames and borders must be in keeping
with the image and must never detract from the image.
This
DVD has been recorded at high resolution and runs for almost 4 hours
The
DVD covers the following subjects
Creating
a border the easy way - 5.50 minutes
Creating
a quick and easy border or frame for an image that can be printed with the image,
but we can also use the tools of Photoshop at the same time to make sure the final
size of the image fits a purpose made picture frame. We often buy these standard
size frames from the high street and then find it is not easy getting our picture
format into that standard size.
Creating
a border using layers. - 15.25 minutes
Using
layers to create our borders and frames open up an enormous array of ideas and
creative effects. We can change the background colours and hues, add lines and
texture and do all this quickly and easily.
Adding
A Block mount effect. - 16.00 minutes
Using
the tools of Photoshop we show you how you can use those tools to create the block
mount effect. This gives the appearance that your image is raised from the border
and looks great when printed. These effects are so convincing that I constantly
see people running their fingers over my prints to feel the block mount effect
we produce.
The Matt effect - 18.32
minutes
This is a particularly
attractive effect and looks great when printed. This is the effect where the image
is overlaid by the border and the image itself appears to be below to frame. Again
the use of layers is necessary to achieve the effect, which is then completely
changeable to suit the needs of the image being presented.
This
is another of those effects that are so convincing that I constantly see people
running their fingers over my prints to feel if the image is really below the
frame.
Using the Picture Itself to create the border - 10.00 minutes
We
can also use layers and our image to create a unique effect. We show you how to
stretch your image over the border using Photoshop layers. Then using the tools
of Photoshop we subdue that image a little to create this unique effect.
This
can be applied either in a standard border, as a block mounted border of the Matt
effect.
Create a border in perfect
Harmony with your image. - 23.45 minutes
This
is one of those techniques that is always successful. The whole point of borders
and frames is to present our images as best we can. This technique does that every
single time without fail.
The Past
Into Technique - 31.00 minutes
Learn
how to create the basic shapes for this stunning way of presenting our images.
We can create simple or complex shapes using Photoshop and we show you how.
Taking
those shapes we can demonstrate the past into technique for a very creative end
result. We have enclosed many of these shapes on this DVD and these shapes are
copyright free. You can use these shapes, or make changes to them to suit your
own projects.
The Scattered Pictures
technique - 31.00 minutes
Here
we show you how you can apply your images to a border in what appears to be a
scattered technique, but of course we apply the order and design and use Photoshop
Layers to achieve it.
Using our
Pre made Frame - 8.44 minutes
We
have included a considerable number of ready made frames that you can use to drop
your images into. In this video we show you how you can fit your images to our
frames or fit our frames to your images.
Breakout
technique - 21.00 minutes
Used
sparingly this is a super technique where we can allow part of the image to spill
out onto the border we create. The possibilities are endless and include flowers
where a strategic part of the spray of flowers overspills our border. A jet aircraft
flying out of the picture, maybe breaking the white line as it goes, very effective.
In
our case we have used a close up of a crocodile to demonstrate these techniques
and we end up with a powerful image that has impact and appeal.
Creating
an Oval Frame - 12.00 minutes
Here
we demonstrate how you can create an oval border that contains texture and great
effects through Layer Styles. Once again selection tools and Photoshop Layers
are needed for these effects that present an image to perfection.
Adding
delicate lines to a border using guides - 13.20 minutes
Here
we show you how to create those delicate lines around an image that we often see
on those card mounts bought from the high street. Position them perfectly, make
them delicate and controllable is the key and our video shows you how.
Adding
a Vignette - 4.00 minutes
Simple,
but effect, the vignette is still one of the most effective on the right image.
We show you how to create it quickly and efficiently while retaining that important
control by working in layers.
Break-up
- 24.00 minutes
In this technique
we take a powerful image and break it apart into a number of sections for a creative
end result. These sections can be presented formally or informally for a great
result. Once again layers are essential to this technique.
