Creating
your own CD covers is easy using Adobe Photoshop, but you
need the exact size for a template. I have created a front
and rear template for you so just click on the one you want
below.

When
you have printed your front cover cut around the thin black
line and lightly score the centre line. Fold the cover to
give you an outer and inner sleeve as we show below.
Do
the same with the rear, but lightly score the flanges on the
edge, which turn up and form the spine of the CD cover.

Using
Photoshop layers and text palette create your own individual
and unique designs as shown above.
Sending
images off to your favorite Magazine?
The
make a stunning CD cover and put a selection of the images
on it. Always include your address, phone numbers and E-mail
address. Make it easy for the editorial staff to get a first
impression of your work and more importantly know how to get
hold of you should they wish to do so.

Entering
a Competition?
Then
create that cover and again draw attention to your work and
let the organizers know where to send your prizes ! ! !

Two
copies of the rear cover can be printed on one sheet of A4
to save your paper as shown below.

You
can print what the CD contains on the spine of your cover
so that when stacked the CD you are looking for can easily
be found. I turn my cover 90 degrees CW and then create the
text. Then turn your cover 180 degrees to do the other side.
Your
CD covers will be as good as your imagination and they are
great fun to do. They also help you learn how Photoshop works
while you are creating something useful. Remember that in
a year or two you may have a lot of CD's and finding what
you want is helped by a good informative cover.
Don't
forget to include a few graphics for effect, which can easily
be taken with your digital camera or copied via your flatbed
scanner.
