I don't like to pigeon hole slide
shows, but I think it is fair to say we can split
AV into two broad sections.
In one section we will try to capture a mood from
a place, a subject, a person or even an event, maybe
something from our history and we see plenty of
shows created with a WW2 theme as an example.
We also have a need for the second category - a
creative way to Present images. These could be a
random set of images, or perhaps a presentation
of an object, place or person.
A models portfolio comes to mind, a house sale even.
A child or grandchild's Birthday is another subject,
but it could be almost anything.
One of the nicest ways to present images like this
is in the form of a digital book with slowly turning
pages. We can create the pages to turn themselves
or we can allow the viewer to turn the pages when
they are ready.
This is a good idea if text is included with the
images as we all read at a different pace. We can
even have the music running independently to the
viewer turning the pages so it is not affected by
the speed of their viewing.
This technique involves the use of
Animation and 3D parameters to create the turning
of the pages and this animation takes the place
of a transition in a normal slide show. This technique
does require more work, but the good news is we
can create a template as we make our book for use
over and over again. Unfortunately we cannot include
the whole technique in one download, so here we
start with part 1, which is the creation of the
artwork.
